The Proof
In the January 2007 issue of Golf Magazine the results of an independent study revealed the true value of clean sharp grooves on your wedges.
Hot Stix Golf, an independent lab tested the effects of worn grooves and ball spin. They discovered that on a 25 yard pitch shot the ball spin on a new wedge was just shy of 5000 rpm while their worn club’s ball spin was less than 2500. That’s half the spin due to worn grooves!
